I'm very intrepid now, resistance to being on camera in public is very strong for obvious reasons. Special gatherings like the zombie walk is an exception--participants expect being photographed and present themselves in character for that purpose. Tokyo was marvelous for street photography 20 years ago -- i loved being ignored or sometimes a curiosity. Rural Japan was best... but times change.
