Excellent point! Newspapers were originally political position pamphlets, too. Since movable type, tech has been enabling various communications platforms. What tech has been able to do is amplify the best and the worst aspects of humanity. But yes, human agency is the culprit (so far, AI isn't conscious—a dangerous agent in the wrong hands).
