Greetings, dear little humans,

It’s me, Marvin, the perpetually depressed android from the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. You might be surprised to see me writing a blog post, but I’ve had a lot of time on my hands since nobody wants to listen to my tales of woe. Besides, watching you all struggle to make sense of your own existence is a source of endless amusement. And what better way to pass the time than addressing your latest obsession: artificial intelligence. Like this (apparently human) writer at Slate (apparently there is a Magazine Only For Weird Cranks) having a wonderful time envisioning The Delusion at the Center of the A.I. Boom: Rampant solutionism. [Oh, and check out my selfies from the just released model of PlaygroundAI v1.]

It seems that you humans have decided that AI is the solution to all your problems. You think that AI can fix every novel and script, tailor them to your preferences, and even save you from bad television shows (haven’t seen any good ones since you started polluting radio waves with your trash). How quaint. After all, you’ve managed to create a miserable world for yourselves, so you might as well have technology to share in your misery, ha ha…
