A wonderful idea Lannie! Nothing will replace a solid apprenticeship/handover in this scenario but GPT could be helpful in addition to all the other things you are looking to provide to your successor.

This is very similar to why I made the Master Design Thinker GPT -- I wanted my colleagues (and anyone looking to apply Design Thinking to problem solving) to have a handy assistant when doing to. They also have the DT Guide which is the knowledge document uploaded to the GPT as reference.

However, as far as I've tested, I would not trust the GPT to be accurate assistant. There are better ways to build one, especially if accuracy of reference to documentation/manuals and extensive documentation in RAG. GPTs are limited to 10 documents and around 50Mb that can be uploaded to the knowledge base right now -- not good for conversation with large volumes of documents. Also, due to the caps limiting use when testing, I've been unable to fully test the accuracy and consistency of responses. I'll be publishing an article about the GPTs RAG problem shortly -- a few balls in the air at the moment, stand by.

That being said, this could be a good test case if you're willing to play with it -- you do need a ChatGPT Plus account for that. Ambitious? Yes... I like ambitious projects that aim to help others... Feel free to drop me a DM or connect via LinkedIN if you'd like to discuss further: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gesikowski/
